DUCKS IN THE GARDEN

Last sunday at mum and dads the ducks were all making themselves at home. 19 of them turned up throughout the day checking the place out as they do every year before they come back with their babies.

CBGM BLOG CHALLENGE #6 - BIRDS IN THE GARDEN

Good morning everyone

Over on my other blog CBGM i have a new challenge up and running. Its an anything goes challenge in the theme of Birds in the Garden.

I have my DT entries over on CBGM but i wanted to post another entry from myself on this blog as it is a SB layout.

For this one i have used SU papers and have embossed some patterns and added craftwork candy on the flourish areas. I have used 3 photos of the most adorable little blue tits from my garden last spring and used spellbinder dies to create the matting/layering effects. I have then used Sheena Douglass's blue tit stamp from a Little Bit Sketch range and coloured in in copics and blinged it up with gold embossing powders. The text was cut from the curly alphabet on my big shot.

If you would like to see more of the DT entries or to take part in my challenge please click HERE

IN PRINT

Hello all

Today im sharing with you another mag article where one of my projects has been published. This time it is in Scrapbook Magazine issue 54.

Last year i entered a scrapbook competition in for practical publishing and i didnt win but they held onto my layouts - if im honest id forgotten about them. Yesterday i got a large box in the mail and in it was 10 double sided sheets of basic grey papers and my layout returned to me with a compliments slip saying thank you for the layout and allowing them to publish it in the mag and as a thank you to me was the papers.

I was really chuffed.

I usually buy this mag but hadnt gotten it at that point so when i was out yesterday i grabbed my copy.
Here is my layout for you to see

NASHVILLE

Today id like to share some layouts of an amazing trip my sister Angela and I took to Nashville in June 2004 for the country music fanfare event. We have been die hard country fans for years so this was like a dream come true for us to be able to attend this  event.

I have 100s of Nashville photos but chose a select few to scrap and show you in this posting.

This first one shows Nashville skyline, the banks, CMT building, Tootsies downtown and hard rock cafe.

This layout is of some of the famous buildings that we visited on our trip.
The Grand Ole Opry - home of country music, The Hall of Fame and the Ryman.
We were lucky enough to see Keith Urban in the Ryman as he was having his fan club party.

My old Beanie collecting friend Diane from Indiana drove to Nashville to meet up with us and was staying at the same hotel. On this day we went to Opry Mills shopping centre as its car park also houses the bank area where the steamer moors so we couldn't resist taking a trip on the boat down the Mississippi.

Our main reason for visiting Nashville was obviously for the festival. We registered in the Gaylord centre and got all our day/evening passes. The main concert events took place down on the riverside and in the Titans stadium. During the day there were meet and greets in the convention centre where i got to meet up with some of my absolute fav artists - Billy Dean, Tracy Byrd, Lonestar, John Berry, Marty Stuart to name only a few - WOW  what a fantastic experience the whole thing was and one day would like to go again.

I hope you like what i have created.

MAJORCA HOLIDAY 2010

Today id like to share with you my very first digi scrapbook efforts - ive had such fun playing around with the software as its amazing what you can do with it and ive only scrathed the surface!.

So here we go for some of my layouts of Majorca from August 2010.
I will scrap the other photos and post them at a later date.

I love this layout as ive incorporated 7 photos in an among the jungle leaves - can you spot me with the waterfall and Jim with Oscar the parrot!

We specifically went to Marjorca for our 10th wedding anniversary and wanted to do something special to celebrate so we took a hot air balloon trip. WOW what an amazing experience as neither of us had done anything like that before.

Hope you like what ive created. I will create more layouts with the rest of the photos - there are so many of them that its hard to choose which ones to scrap!

DIGTAL SCRAPBOOKING

Good morning

Ive just started doing digital scrapbooking with Craft Artist platinum. Im not one for reading instructions as i just like to go with it - thats my problem as then i get it wrong !!

What im wondering is - does anyone use it and could advise me on how i then get my creations up on blogger as the ext that the creations are saved in is not compatible with blogger. what ive had to do is have the CA screen visible and use print screen and import it into Paint shop pro to crop the page then save as a jpg - theres got to be an easier and quicker way and am hoping someone can assist.

Cheers

CRAFTERS COMPANION CRAFTAGANZA 2009

Today im posting the scrapbook pages that i completed after attending the Crafters Companion Craftaganza in Darlington 2009 - it was a fantastic jam packed week that i had away from home and managed to fit in 2 days for shopping in Newcastle at the Metro centre before and after the event.

Now on for the photos - sorry but some of them are a little out of focus as my camera is playing up today.

Meg from CC who orgnised the whole event.

The one and only Sara Davies.

Anthony Minnis from (now) Pinflair but at the time (dufex).

The one and only queen of inkyness Sheena Douglass. I have the priviledge of being on this talented lady's design team! This was also the very first time we met.

This pic shows me with Leann Chivers from CC.

Another CC staff member - this time Claire Hamer.

This photo shows me with the Hougie board creator - Kay Rutter.

I really like this photo as its a smiley jolly one. Its with Mrs Flowersoft - Noreen Mckee

Such a  "cute" photo of me with Jayne Nestorenko.

Sara showing off her award she won from the night before.

I was sitting at the naughty table this particular night as i had all the worshop hosts. This night after dinner they were all presented with lovely flowers from all of us who took part in the extravaganza as a token of appreciation for their time, efforts, support and friendship throughout the event.

On children in need night some of us wore appropriate head gear!! The pic on the RHS shows my table  we were the naughty rowdy ones - im up the top on the Left with my ears on, Carol is on the right pointing to somone  and Jacqui Dennis on the bottom left.
sorry but i cant remember everyone elses names.

At the end of the event we all got presented by Sara with a certificate of attendance an a lovely Hand Created by stamp with your initials - in the CC colours!

It was a great event, very well organised.  The hotel was brilliant, the food excellent and the staff very accomodating to us loud rabble!!  The CC staff were to be commended for putting up with us all too.
There was of course a shop for us to purchase CC items from their website - it was also double club points too. Needless to say i stocked up on PLENTY stash.
The nights were spent with a drink or 2 in hand and a few other goings on that (cough cough)
cannot be repeated !!!
