THE " ALL ABOUT ME " BOOK

Hello all

I am looking at setting up a group of scrappers who would be interested in creating an "all about me" book of their life so we can share pages on a monthly basis.

It is something i have been meaning to do for a long long time - create a book of my life and set up a group to do this alongside me. It wont matter if you have already started a book as that will just mean you have the advantage over the rest of us as will have some pages already created.

It would be like a challenge as we would have one page to create each month and the pages can be showcased on my blog with links to your blog where you can also post your pages - hopefully inspiring others to also create such a book

Would  anyone interested in taking part ? I will need a minimum of 5 to get this underway.

To be in the group you would need to be an active, good blogger, have a FaceBook account as i will set up a group for all the goings on.

Plus I will also design a blog badge for you to showcase.

If you are interested please leave a comment below and then we can review it all in a few weeks time and get it underway. This would be a good project to start for when the night are getting dark and we can work on it over the autumn winter time.

IN LOVE WITH CUPCAKES !!!

Hello everyone

As some of you know I LOVE pink, glitter, fairies and cupcakes. So for me to create something pink and glittery that i can eat - well WOW !  So here we are i've created a layout showing some fabby tasty strawberry cupcakes. I have been creating a lot of digi layouts recently to to actually get back to basics and do a manual layout was a refreshing change and challenge. I miss it.

I have a tendancy to not mix my cake mixture enough to get sufficient air in it so ive made this layout to remember  - Hope you like it

I then cut the apron in one paper and using the shadow i cut another, mounting them together. Next i cut the bowl and again using the shadow another different coloured layer and using the other layering techniques i cut the inside of the bowl and the spoon handle. I coloured the bowl's insides with pink ink and the spoon with lilac ink. All these pieces were mounted together using pinflair glue.

I took the backing paper and smaller sizes of paper and laid them out how i wanted and attached them with finger lift tape.  I then edged it all in pinflair flexi bend peel offs. Next i printed the photo and matted and layered it so it looks like a framed picture. I then added the elements to the layout to make it all come together.

I created the title by using the rainbow shimmer mirror board and cutting out the mix thoroughly merged words and set it inside an oval. Then using the pink card stock created a backing matt oval to mount it on.

Card candy and embellishments added for effect as finishing touches.

I have used the following products to create it:

Cricut cart - From my kitchen
Dovecraft - piece of cake embellishments
Craft work cards - card candy
HOTP and K&CO backing papers
Pinflair  - flexi bend peel offs and pinflair glue.
Create & Craft - rainbow shimmer mirror board.
Papeterie papermill - pink backing card
Papermania - pink and lilac ink

I LOVE It and i hope you like it too.

I am also using this piece as my UNIT 6 entry for the papercrafting qualification that i am currently undergoing - i have already "passed with credit" units 1,2,3 & 4 and have paid the extra to sit unit 6.
The qualification is 2 mandatory units which are units 1 and 2 then 2 optional units 3,4,5 or 6.

BUCKET LIST HOP 19TH AUG 2011

Hello there everyone

Today is day two for the "Bucket list" hop hosted by Michelle. If you are not familiar with a bucket list - it is a list of things that you would like to achieve/do before you kick the bucket !!

This hop intrigued me so i just had to join up and am very excited to be showing you my creations.

If you have found this posting by hopping along in bloggerland, thank you, and would like to take part in the hop then please start back at Michelles blog   HERE to start off the hop but if you have arrived here from Gina's blog then you are on the right track.

On this hop we are also celebrating special days for those of us in the line up - so here goes to who is celebrating in the month of August.

Michelle and Jamie - Happy birthday 18th Aug
Justina - Happy Birthday on 28 th Aug
Wendy - Happy Birthday on 31st Aug
Me and Jim - Happy 11th Anniversary which was on the 11th Aug

So how do you create a bucket list ?   then i guess you do need to read my day one post !

For day one on this hop i showcased projects that i have achieved already from my  bucket list so whats left is to showcase for day two some projects of items that i have still to achieve - hope you like them.

On my Bucket list is to renew our wedding vows in Las Vegas as Scarlett O Hara and Rhett Butler - Gone with the Wind is my all time favourite film. This was supposed to happen for our 10th anniversary in 2010 but putting on weight, being made redundant and all the costs involved with it we decided to put it on hold for another time. Again this is so achievable and I WILL do this maybe for our 20th or 25th anniversary !!

The dress in these 2 pictures is THE dress that i want to be wearing and i have found an American online company who would do this for me  www.gwtw4ever.com  but they are rather expensive to have it made and to get it shipped to me in the UK - but it will be OH SO worth it

and here is my layout for this wish on my list.

Here is a layout i created to show the next of my projects on my bucket list - to take a wild animal safari in Kenya.

Next on my list is to open my own craft studio - this was again supposed to happen in 2010 when i was out of work as i had pursued the venture but got nowhere fast and had to return to working for a living :-( to make ends meet. I had wanted this in my 40th year but im happy if it happens before im 50 ! Here is a layout that i created about it

I dont quite know what else to create for my studio venture as all i have is a "works in progress book". The book is not very exciting to take pictures off as it is a lot of writing and drawings but here  is a list of things that are contained in it.

This book shows :-
the items i have purchased for the shop - fixtures, fittings etc
the items i still need for the shop
the layout id like to have in the shop - for selling and workshops space
ideas for workshop/demos and people to host them
materials i have bought for workshops etc
colour schemes - clearly it would all be pink !!
window displays with curtains

blimey it actually shows a lot. Anyway it gives you an idea of what is going around in my head!

Hope you like what i have created for this hop on both day one and day two as  its been a blast doing the projects for it and im looking forward to seeing what everyone comes up with.

Next hop stop is HERE where you will find the next bucket list projects from Linda T.
Thanks for hopping by.

I am taking part in another blog hop on 20th and 21st - Hawaiian themed over on my main blog http://creationsbygillm.blogspot.com so i hope you can hop on by for that one too - i have themed freebies on offer both days too.

BUCKET LIST HOP 18TH AUG 2011

Hello there crafters

Today is the "Bucket list" hop hosted by Michelle. If you are not familiar with a bucket list - it is a list of things that you would like to achieve/do before you kick the bucket !!

This hop intrigued me so i just had to join up and am very excited to be showing you my creations.

If you have found this posting by hopping along in bloggerland, thank you, and would like to take part in the hop then please start back at Michelles blog   HERE  to start off the hop if however you have arrived here from Gina's blog then you are on the right track.

On this hop we are also celebrating special days for those of us in the line up - so here goes to who is celebrating in the month of August.

Michelle and Jamie - Happy birthday today 18th Aug
Justina - Happy Birthday on 28 th Aug
Wendy - Happy Birthday on 31st Aug
Me and Jim - Happy 11th Anniversary which was on the 11th Aug

Now on with the hop.

So how do you create a bucket list ?  Well heres a few simple things to ask yourself to get your started. Write down the questions and then your  answers beside each :-

1 - if you had a year left to live, what would you like to do, like to see, like to go to  etc
2 - if you just won the lottery what would you like to do, like to go to, like to own etc
3 - what do you most regret not ever doing in your life ?
4 - if a genie granted you 3 wishes, what would they be ?

I bet you will have heaps of things on your list? What hinders us from achieving these things are probably money, attitude, location of where we live, no will power - am i right ?
So what actually is hindering you from achieving them - i mean really hindering you - then why not take steps to resolve those issues and go for it - turn  your bucket list into reality !!! I hope this hop inspires you to create your own Bucket List.

What i have done for this hop is showcase today which is day one what  i have actually achieved from my list and  turned into SB LO projects and for day two i will be showcasing projects of what i have still to achieve.

Now for my projects

One thing that was on my list  that i have actually done,  when we were on holiday last year in Majorca, was to take a hot air balloon ride - here is a layout that i created for it. It was much more special as it was our 10th wedding anniversary.

Next i always wanted to visit Las Vegas and experience its surreality. I achieved that in 2004 and yep that is me in the bottom left photo under the MGM lion & Jim in the next photo playing a munsters slot machine.

I have always wanted to swim with dolphins and although i havent actually achieved it yet and it is achievable for me, which im hoping for in 2012 on my return visit to Florida, my sister actually did this in 2006 and here is a layout that i created from some of her pictures.

Hope you like what i have created for day one of this hop. its been a blast doing the projects for it and im looking forward to showing you my creations for day two - these will be the projects of things that are still on my list.

Next hop stop is HERE where you will find the next bucket list projects from Linda T. Thank you for hopping by and see you again tomorrow.
